Teds Dog Grooming

Terms & Conditions

Before the Groom

1. Please ensure that your pet has been given the opportunity to be relieved before they enter the grooming salon. This will ensure that they get the maximum enjoyment out of their groom.

2. Please do not feed your pet within 30 minutes prior to their appointment.

3. All pet parents are responsible for keeping their pet up to date with their vaccinations and you may be requested to provide evidence of this. We regret that we are unable to groom puppies until 2 weeks after their 2nd vaccination. As a pet parent, you must inform the groomer of any medical conditions your pet may have or is having treatment for.

De-Matting

4. We will endeavour to groom your pet to your requirements, however, if your pet's coat is excessively matted, the matted coat will be clipped (shaved) out. Depending on the severity of the matted coat, which will be discussed during your pet's consultation, there may be an additional charge and therefore if may not be possible to achieve the style you desire. As groomers, our primary concern is to relieve any distress or discomfort your pet may be experiencing because of their severely or excessively matted coat.

Health of Your Pet

5. Unfortunately, we are unable to groom pets which are pregnant or in season.

6. If your pet appears to have some unwelcome visitors (e.g., fleas or ticks), we may charge an additional fee of £12 to cover the cost to disinfect the salon. You will be fully advised of any necessary treatment needed for your pet.

7. If your pet appears unwell at the time of the appointment, they will not be accepted for grooming due to the risk of cross infection to other pets. We reserve the right to refuse any groom at any time without reason.

8. We strongly advise you, as pet parents, to insure your pet. Whilst we take every reasonable precaution to prevent it, we will not accept any responsibility for any loss, injury, death or illness suffered by your pet whilst in our care.

 Prices

9. Please be aware that prices given are a guide only, as actual costs are dependent on many factors (e.g., coat condition, size of pet, density of coat, temperament, desired and achievable result). Additional costs will be explained to you and noted on your contract, a copy will be provided to you after your pet's consultation.

10. We require 24 hours’ notice to cancel or change an appointment or a 50% charge of the groom will be incurred.

11. If you arrive more than 15 minutes late, we cannot guarantee your appointment will remain available. Any pets not collected at the agreed collection time will incur an additional charge of £5 per hour or part hour that they remain in holding.

 Grooming Clipping Policy

Please be aware that when the coat of your pet has been clipped, it will change the appearance and the hair will be short and closer to the skin.

If this exposes pre-existing skin complaints, we may ask for your written permission to clip off a matted coat.

If problems occur with your dog, or we find an underlying skin condition, we may halt the groom and reserve the right to ask you to return with your dog after veterinary treatment has been sought, so that we can complete the groom. We may have to make an additional charge for this.

Regular grooming helps with the prevention of matting and is recommended.
